The Collared Lizard

Male collared lizards both males and females have two black rings, collars. that go around their necks. The males also tend to be larger and have blue, green, yellow around their mid section and a brownish/tan head. The juveniles and females tend to be more brown all over. These differing characteristics between mature male and female lizards means this species is sexually dimorphic.

The orange markings on this female suggests she is ready for mating.
