Dr. McGee’s graduate research focused on the impacts of climate change on lizards in the Southwestern United States. She is also interested in the barriers preventing Black woman from entering natural resources careers.

Devoted to increasing diversity and inclusion in STEM, Earyn is a science communicator for public talks. You can also find her on social media (@Afro_Herper), giving keynotes at your favorite conference, and a presence on popular podcasts such as Ologies.
Outreach
It is important to include diverse voices when conserving environments and wildlife. From 2017 to 2021, Earyn has served as a Doris Duke Conservation Scholars (DDCSP) Graduate Student mentor. The DDCSP is aimed at increasing the diversity of scientist engaging in conservation work. Earyn has mentored 3 pairs of students through designing a research project, collecting and analyzing data, and finally creating posters to present at scientific conferences such as the Ecological Society of America.
