Sgraffito

I created this piece towards the end of my dissertation. I hit a hard patch and through pottery I saw a way out. The base clay is black. I then added white slip for sgraffito. This piece was over fired, meaning it got to hot during the bisque firing. This likely affected the glaze which came out beautifully. This combined with some of the glaze being removed prior to glaze firing lead to these striking colors! This is just one glaze!
